Teaching History
Teaching is not my primary profession, but due to stress with my current job I tried teaching in a private school for awhile. I really enjoyed it, but unfortunately it did not pay well and I've since moved back to the stressful, better paying work. My sojourn into teaching was great fun. I not only had the opportunity to use my undergraduate degree in history, but got to play, quite a bit, as well.
On one occasion I bought a reproduction Claymore(sword; think Braveheart) and we proceded to whack watermelons on the school grounds with it! I also brought my vintage German, WWI trench mace out and used it to good effect as well. Watermelons have the consistancy of a human head. Cool.
Some of my uniform collection was brought in on occasion. I think the kids enjoyed it. I taught 7th, 9th, 10th , 11th and 12th grades. An interesting life experience for me!
