My Military Service
I am lucky to have been born in the greatest country in the world. The opportunities and life that one can experience here limitless. I have been honored to protect this country and serve in her armed forces. From 1982 until 1987 I served in the United States Marine Corp. All Marines, irregardless of specialty, are trained as basic infantrymen. My job specialty or MOS was 1811, or tankman. I received the best training for the martial skills that any country can provide. I trained in Japan(Okinawa and mainland), Singapore, Australia, Hawaii, Hong Kong, The Philippines, Korea and all points in the United States and other places too numerous to mention. Tropical, desert and arctic training were all accomplished regularly. The best training in the world...is the world!
I started out as the driver, then loader, gunner and then eventually tank commander. When I left the Marine Corp, I was a Sergeant of Marines. As well as making me a warrior, it was the best life training anybody could ever receive.
The liberty(time off; Navy and Marine word) was quite good, as well, for a single man. The women were beautiful, the booze was flowing and the experiences were eventful. Here are some visuals of that time.

Desert Training
Desert Training, "hot as hell".
Night time cookin'
At night, the desert gets very cold. Making tanker's stew with a tent peg and c-rats. We shaved our heads for this operation.
Shipping around the world.
The United States Marines keep a Marine Amphibious Unit or quick reaction force in both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans at all times. In case of any "flareups" that transpire around the world, we are there. I am crossing a certain important strait with our tanks below deck.
Comraderie
The comraderie of the Marine's is legendary. "Once a Marine, Always a Marine". I have made lifelong friends that I keep today. That never goes away. We have just comeback from a weeklong operation/training in Australia. We are nasty and dirty!
Cold Weather Training.
Ice and snow!
Exhausted.
In the field. After dismissal, and getting ready to sleep!
